"Life Stories"

Sometimes a person's life, or more precisely, a person's character or personality, can be expressed in a phrase. Honest as the day is long. Still waters run deep. These phrases come from literature, politics, poetry, science and that deep, murky pool called popular culture. It's a shorthand that helps us to express our knowledge of another person.

The work in this show is a selection of phrases that suggested visual realities to me. There are many more... Black sheep of the family. Jack of all trades. Team player... but I had to stop somewhere.
